(I hope ye all had a lovely summer! After a long break I can’t wait to be back in this space…)
A morning walk at the beach.
No one feels rested after a sleepless night in the van (teething, the heat, midges, etc…) and we want to walk off our crankiness.
We all go down the beach taking in the views and the fresh morning air. It doesn’t take long for everyone to forget their bad moods.
Crouched down we draw in the sand. We pick up feathers and shells. We run down steep sand banks which are exposed now that the tide is out.
“Let’s go over and have a look at the rock pools. We might find crabs!” someone shouts and we wade through shallow warm water until we reach the rocks.
We only find dead crabs but we pick them up, feel their backs and their claws.
First the pools just look like rocks, water and a bit of seaweed. But the longer we look the more things we notice.
There are whole little worlds, miniature lakes, caves and canyons.
This morning we are all children; curious, adventurous, forgetting time and space. Just wandering, exploring, climbing, watching and being.
